With no downtime or invasive surgery to endure, dental veneers are a perfect treatment to have while on holiday in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Dentists on this Spanish island charge two or three times less (per veneer) than their counterparts in the UK, meaning patients seeking a full or partial smile makeover with multiple veneers can easily save several thousands of euros/pounds—even when factoring in flight and accommodation costs.

Hollywood stars like Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman and Ben Affleck manage to maintain their perfectly straight, white smiles… the answer isn’t down to their lucky genetics. Rather, it’s their sizable paychecks allowing them to essentially cover all of their teeth with dental veneers, with such full mouth makeovers often costing over $20,000 in the States.

And with veneer prices in the UK of between GBP 500-1,000 per tooth, British patients may well be faced with similar dental bills when seeking the same premium treatment. It should also be added, veneers are almost never subsidized by the NHS.

But there is another option, and that’s to head abroad for treatment, enjoying a summer holiday at the same time in Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria.

Prices here are up to two-thirds less, and dentists use the same high-quality brands and materials, like porcelain, ceramic, zirconia and composite, to manufacture each made-to-measure veneer.

Dental veneers are affixed to the front of stained, crooked, chipped or misaligned. They can be used to hide one problem tooth, or hide all of the teeth that show when a patient is smiling. This normally amounts to 10-16 veneers, depending on whether both arches of teeth are being treated.

Some of the main advantages of getting veneers in Las Palmas are:

• No requirement for surgery; the procedure, which involves filing down a thin sliver of enamel from each receiving tooth, can be carried out under local anaesthetic.
• Visit the dentist for impressions;, get on with your holiday as normal, then return to have the veneers placed a few days later before flying home.

• Often significantly more effective in whitening teeth compared to bleaching treatment
• Porcelain veneers don’t stain (unlike teeth that have been whitening where the results need to be topped up every few years).
