Dental crown work in Bangkok takes a couple or three days: two appointments with the dentist on the first and last day of your treatment period, with the necessary lab work taking place in between. However, this turnaround time may take just a matter of hours if your chosen clinic has its own on-site lab with modern CAD/CAM technology.

On your first visit, your options in terms of the material to be used will be discussed. Gold crowns, full porcelain, full ceramic, zirconia and other standard materials are all used in Bangkok. When a decision has been made as to which one is most suitable, your dentist will prepare your tooth for the crown.

First, the tooth will be cleaned and shaped for receipt of the crown. Impressions of your mouth are then taken and sent to the lab for the crown to made to fit perfectly. Your dentist will fit a temporary crown until the permanent crown is ready.

On your second visit, the temporary crown is removed and the new dental crown put in place. Once you and your dentist are happy with the fit and color, it will be permanently affixed. If you are having multiple crowns, it would be wise to extend your stay in Bangkok for a few extra days for you to spend time eating and chewing with your new crowns; this will give you time for any minor adjustments to be made by the dentist if needed.
