Provided by Nobel Biocare®, this implant-based restoration procedure is a solution for anybody who has lost most—or all—of their teeth and who would prefer a more permanent, comfortable and natural-looking replacement rather than dentures.
The beauty of this procedure is that, unlike traditional implants, it may be suitable for patients with bone loss, and it can be carried out in just one day, giving you more time to spend enjoying your holiday.

Perfected in Lisbon in the 1980s by Portuguese dentist Dr Paulo Malo, the procedure replaces all the teeth in the upper, lower or both jaws on four dental implants.
The procedure is fairly commonplace these days, with implantologists around the world undergoing the specialist training required to perform this procedure, which has successfully been carried out over 150,000 times.
Dr. Malo perfected the technique with strategic placement of the four dental implants to provide the most stability, as well as using longer implants for the two posterior implants that provide a bigger surface area for the jaw bone to integrate with, which makes the implant stronger.
After placement of the implants, a fixed dental bridge is attached to them immediately; after a healing period of around six months, this is replaced with a heavier, more durable and permanent version.
The key to successful treatment is to plan it thoroughly. Thus, there are several stages required. If you are planning to go to Antalya, then the first step is to get up-to-date digital x-rays sent to the dentist you’ve chosen in Turkey, who can make a preliminary assessment on your suitability for All-on-4s.
Once you arrive in Antalya, the treatment will take place as follows:
1: Initial Consultation & Assessment:
You will receive a complete examination and consultation from your dentist, who will also carry out appropriate diagnostic tests, including digital x-rays and 3D/CT scans. This will help the dentist to see your jawbone clearly, and show whether there is any bone loss that could be problematical. This process is also important in putting together the treatment plan as exact measurements must be taken to place the implants in the most effective places in your jaw.
If the dentist is confident you are a suitable candidate for the All-on-4 implants, you will agree on a day for the treatment to take place. You will also have impressions made of your mouth so that your new teeth are ready to put in place on your treatment day.
2: Treatment Day:
Local anaesthetic with conscious sedation is used for the surgical procedure, and the treatment typically takes around two hours per jaw.
The dentist first removes any remaining teeth and then begins the process of placing the dental implants. Using the CT scans, the exact points in your jaw are located for implant placement and at each of these points, the gum is opened up to create a flap so the surgeon can access the jaw. A small hole is made in the jaw, the implant placed and the gum flap stitched back.
Two implants are placed in the front of the jaw, and two posteriorly. The two rear implants, as well as being longer than traditional implants, are also placed at a 45-degree, rather than a 90-degree angle, which increases their stability, as well as creating a bigger surface area.
Once all the implants have been positioned, your new teeth are attached and the procedure is complete.
3: Permanent Teeth Restoration
If you have had extractions (or extractions at home within the preceding 3 months), then you will have temporary, lighter teeth fitted on treatment day. This is because your gums will need time to heal, and as they often shrink when they heal your permanent restorations are best attached once the healing is complete to ensure a good fit.
You will need to make arrangements to go back to the dentist in six months’ time (although it can be longer) to get your permanent teeth.
Dentists in Turkey provide excellent quality to international patients. They are well-trained and highly-skilled, offering expertise on a par with the best anywhere in the world. The Turkish Dental Association is the equivalent of the British Dental Association and all dentists must be registered with it in order to practice.
Turkish dentists are likely to be members of international professional organizations, including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dental clinics catering to international patients are contemporary and modern, conforming to internationally recognised standards on hygiene and safety, such as ISO. Clinics are well-equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital x-ray machines, 3D/CT scanning and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture).

Absolutely. Not only can you get your teeth removed, implants placed and new teeth fitted all in one day, but there is surprisingly little in the way of downtime after the procedure.
You may experience a little swelling and bruising, but many patients report no after-effects whatsoever, which means you can enjoy your holiday to the fullest and show off your new smile with confidence.
Note: After surgery, the implants will take around three to four months to fuse with the jawbone (osseointegration), while the gums and fixed prosthesis should also be protected. Thus, patients are advised to follow a diet of semi-solid/soft food during this time.
